Conference Scope:

The International Baltic Conference on Databases and Information Systems is an international forum, which provides an environment to exchange research findings and ideas for researchers, practitioners and PhD students on the crucial matters on engineering reliable, secure and sustainable information systems with data and data analysis in the central role.

The 14th edition of the Baltic DB&IS conference will feature original research and application papers on the theory, design, implementation and security of today's IS on a set of themes and issues.
It will continue a series of successful biennial conferences previously held in Trakai (1994, 2018), Tallinn (1996, 2002, 2008, 2014), Riga (1998, 2004, 2010, 2016), and Vilnius (2000, 2006, 2012).

The Baltic DB&IS 2020 conference will take place in Tallinn, the capital of Estonia, whose picturesque medieval Old Town is known around the world for its well-preserved completeness and authentic Hanseatic architecture. Enchanting atmosphere, rich cultural scene, beautiful surroundings, cutting-edge restaurants, cafes and clubs - there is certainly something for everyone in Tallinn.

On 18 June 2020 a special Security day addressing the topics of security of data and information systems will be held in Tartu (Estonia). The Security day is a part of the Baltic DB&IS 2020 program.

Submissions:

All submissions will be evaluated (originality, validity, contribution, technical quality, and presentation) by at least three members of the international programme committee. The programme committee may decide to accept a submission as a short communication if it reports interesting results, ideas, or experiences but could not be selected as a full paper. Papers must be written in English and submitted via EasyChair system in PDF format.

Original unpublished research papers and application experience papers with even number of pages are invited in the following categories:

  • full research papers describing research accomplishments (up to 14 pages),
  • short communications (experience reports, project overviews, etc.) (6-8 pages),
  • doctoral student papers (for the Doctoral Consortium, 6-8 pages).

Full research papers will be published by Springer in the Communications in Computer and Information Science (CCIS) series, indexed by SCOPUS, Google Scholar, EI-Compendex, and submitted for indexation in Thomson Reuters Conference Proceedings Citation Index.
Short communications will be submitted for online publication as CEUR Workshop proceedings. Best selected short papers will be published by Springer.

Post-Conference Publishing Opportunity - BJMC

In addition to conference proceedings published in a Springer volume or CEUR Workshop proceedings, authors will be invited to extend their articles to be published in an international scholarly open access electronic journal Baltic Journal of Modern Computing (BJMC) (ISSN / E-ISSN: 2255-8950), which is indexed in Web of Science Core Collection: Emerging Sources Citation Index as of 2015, and in SCOPUS as of 2020.
